An employment service list for library professionals

Purpose

LIBJOBS is an Internet mailing list for employment opportunities for librarians and information professionals. Subscribers receive only posted job opportunities.

Information for employers posting job ads

We encourage individuals, personnel offices, and other organizations from around the world to use the list to post job advertisements, employment opportunities, job sharing program information, or similar types of LIS career information. Potential employers are not required to subscribe to the list in order to submit an advertisement.

Required content and format

In the subject line, please include:

• the title of the position
• the city and country where the position is situated.

In the body of the message, please include:

• a full description of the job and task responsibilities, including salary
• complete contact information for inquiries and resume submissions.

Postings not containing this information will be sent back to employers for correction and re-submission.

Administration

LIBJOBS is hosted at the Institut de l'Information Scientifique et Technique (INIST) in Vandoeuvre-les-Nancy in Francea and managed by IFLANET. Anyone may send messages to the list, however LIBJOBS is a moderated list: resumes, misdirected, error, advertising or "spam" will not be forwarded to subscribers. The LIBJOBS archive is browseable from August 1995 to the present and is updated automatically.
