In Memoriam – Karin Passchier
IFLA Secretary General and IFLA
Headquarters staff regret very much to inform you that Karin Passchier
passed away on 19 June 2008. Karin worked as IFLA Adminstrative
Assistant since 1997. In 2003/4 she bravely fought a battle against
cancer, but was again stricken at the end of 2006. She died peacefully
at the very young age of 34. Her funeral will take place in Zoetermeer
on Wednesday 25 June.
After the damage caused by a Typhoon in 2004,
the Yap State Public Library managed to rebuild and reconstruct its
facilities. This has been made possible thanks to a generous gift
of the National Library of Australia and IFLA.
Today there is still a need for books, computers, shelving and
equipment. Read how

formalise ENSIL into a foundation.

information to apply for the Access to Learning Award (ATLA)
2009.
